This product has a black color and is soluble in water suited to drilling with water-based fluids in hot environments. It has a sulfonic acid group, which makes it useful as a treatment for plugging, inhibition, collapse, drag reduction, and lubrication. It is very well hydrated. The suggested dosage is 2–4% .
